The first year of marriage wasn't an easy one for Francoise de Valois. She got pregnant soon after her wedding, but had a miscarriage.Without Cornille's help (the wet-nurse and devoted servant of the family) she wouls have probably died.Fortunately, few months after the sad incident, she got pregnant again and in 1597 she gave birth to a healthy baby girl, whom they named Catherine. But for the Baroness, the birth wasn't a pleasant memory, because she faced lots of complications.

Two years later, baby Catherine died of Typhoid fever.
After that, another pregnancy came. And another one.And another one.It just seemed like Francoise's one and only duty was to give birth. Her second pregnancy wasn't an easy one either, but in 1599 she gave birth to her second child, a healthy baby boy: Maximilian de Valois.

But living in an old castle isn't an easy thing, especially when you have only two servants, Cornille and Jenne.Unfortunatelly, Cornille, the pillar of the household, got sick and no longer could accomplish her duties.
The next two years, Francoise got birth to another son, Remont (1600), followed by Madelon (1602), a beautiful daughter and twin girls, Marion and Agnesot (1604).
